I agree that Japanese companies should hire more foreign workers.
First, foreign workers compensate for the workforce shortage in Japan. Japan is becoming an aging society and therefore the workforce shortage will be more serious in the future. Considering the birthrate is declining rapidly in Japan, accepting foreign workers will be the only viable solution to make up for the workforce shortage.
Second, in today’s globalized world, foreign workers will be beneficial when Japanese companies do business abroad. For example, my company was planning to go into the Indian market last year. However, it was difficult to understand Indian cultures and I turned to my Indian colleague for help. He explained Indian cultures clearly and help us do business in India. Consequently, our projects in India were immensely successful.
In conclusion, Japanese firms will and must employ more foreign workers in terms of workforce and globalization.
