The outer space is completely dark, and in the world of death is the earth, which is incredibly beautiful. What especially made me feel this way was the thinness of the atmosphere surrounding the earth. While the outer space is so dark that no organisms can live there, the earth is filled with living organisms.

We are supposed to use words which are usually found in dictionaries and have fixed meanings. Since we have to speak in a way other people can understand, there is nothing special about the grammar. In short, we don’t have any original vocabulary and grammar. While we always talk about what anyone is likely to talk about, where does the speakers’ uniqueness stem from?
（ロ）
If you take a different route, you may fall over a stone and find a treasure. Therefore, you should be “open-minded” enough to pick up a book in a field you are a little interested in, even if the book may not be useful for your work or study immediately.

Ⅰ は標準的な英文和訳問題。
Ⅱ はやや易の長文読解問題。
設問(1) (ⅰ) の prior と previous の言い換えは TOEIC で頻出のため、TOEIC を受けたことがある人は得したかも。
Ⅲ は標準的な自由英作文。
Ⅳ はやや難の和文英訳。
