I disagree with the statement. I believe that the most important invention of modern times is power generators, not automobiles. Electricity produced by power generators has made our lives convenient and comfortable. First, most of us rely on computers and mobile phones almost every day. Without electricity, we couldn’t use them at all. Second, most of the trains, including Shinkansen, use electricity. Thanks to them, we can go to many places comfortably. Moreover, electricity will make a better future. Electronic cars will be available in about 10 years. In conclusion, power generators have been and will be the most beneficial invention for human beings.

5は手掛かりが少なく、難しい。
Ⅳは標準的な会話文読解問題。
Ⅴは標準的な自由英作文。
読解はそれほど難しくないので、大きな差はつかないだろう。Ⅴの自由英作文が鍵。しかし、これだけの分量の英文を書く練習は独学ではなかなか難しい。何度も書いて、いい先生を見付けて添削をお願いしよう。
