小説では、登場人物が自分たちが夢（あるいは悪夢）の中で生きていたことに気づき、目から鱗が落ちて新たな方向へ進み始める瞬間がしばしばある。こうしたことは歴史の展開においても起こるが、通常はもっと時間がかかり、その気づきの瞬間はほぼいつも、すでに手遅れである。

Now may be an era when people are more influenced by emotions than by objective facts. In this era, we should acquire the skills to think critically and distinguish true from wrong. I participated in a national election last month for the first time. There was a lot of information. I noticed some information seemed attractive but was not based on facts. From this experience, I want to cultivate skills to distinguish between accurate information and misinformation. （77語）

It is important to note here that there are significant individual differences in the way sounds are perceived in the brain. The same sound may be perceived as high by one person while another may perceive it as low. Even within the same individual, the perception of sound can vary depending on the situation.
(B)

However, if I think carefully, the information I have about my own body is far more limited than I usually imagine. I can see only a very limited part of the entire surface of my body. No one has ever directly seen the inside of their own body, even their back or the back of their head. Still less can I ever see, throughout my lifetime, the very face by which others recognize me as myself.
（ロ）
However, researchers tend to be stubborn and to stick to their own theories. As a result, enormous amount of time and trial and error is wasted. Therefore, the talents truly required for scientific research are not so much genius or intuitions as qualities such as self-doubt, resilience (to disappointment), and the ability to gracefully abandon their own theories.
【講評】（難易度は平年の阪大対比）
Ⅰ は標準的な英文和訳問題。
(B) の scales fall from their eyes「目から鱗が落ちる」は難しいが、それ以外は易しい。
Ⅱ は標準的な長文読解問題。
ただし、難しかった昨年よりは易しい。純粋な読解である設問(4)までは易しく、設問(5)はやや難。
設問(1) (ⅳ) conduit は難しいが、同じ文中の hands on to から推測できるだろう。
設問(1)（ⅵ）は今年の早稲田大学のどこかの学部でも問われた。早大を受けた人は得したかも。
Ⅲ は難の自由英作文。
そもそも何を書けばいいか難しい。
Ⅳ はやや難の和文英訳。
(B)（イ）は難。
(B)（ロ）は「潔い諦め」が直接的に書きにくい。文脈的に、「自説を諦めること」と考えていいだろう。
