Japan will be more cashless in the future but shouldn’t become a completely cashless society for the following two reasons.
First, there may be a situation in which consumers can use only cash. For example, if huge disasters happen and electricity becomes unavailable, we have only to use cash. Credit cards won’t work without electricity.
Second, in a completely cashless society, crimes will increase. Some people, especially elderly people, don’t know much about the credit card securities and such kind of people will be targeted by criminals. Such people should continue to use cash so as to protect themselves.
In conclusion, Japan shouldn’t become a totally cashless society in order to prepare for the emergent situations without electricity and prevent crimes. (121語)
